Your Questions About Affiliate Software

Mary asks…

Where can I find the best affiliate marketing software?

Ray Hebert answers:

I’d advise you to look on forums. That’s where most people know about these kind of things.

Richard asks…

free affiliate tracking software that integrates with google checkout?

I was going to sign up to an affiliate network and pay out the 30% fee for each commission payout but I quite like the idea of keeping on top of things myself and offering daily spiffs and incentives.
Problem is while I can find loads of free ones, I cant really find one that integrates with Google checkout.
Any ideas?
I can’t use paypal because it’s an adult website and they won’t allow it

Ray Hebert answers:

How about using PayPal instead?

Lizzie asks…

Looking for affiliate software–suggestions appreciated?

I’m looking for something specific–

All I need is something where I can create affiliate links, and when someone clicks on a link and joins my email list both I and the affiliate who generated the lead are emailed the lead’s information.

That’s all it needs to do. All tracking of sales and commissions after that is done offline.

Anybody know of a program that might do that?

Ray Hebert answers:

Hi,

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but it is commonly credited as being the most powerful affiliate software out there and it’s being relaunched right now.

If you are quick you’ll be able to get a free copy but I think you need to do so before May 24 2009.

Even if it doesn’t prove to be your solution it would be well worth having for the future

Jenny asks…

Looking for an Affiliate Management Software Program???

I am looking for an easy to use and set up, full functioned, Affiliate Management Software program. Please only recommend if you have personal experience and positive results.

Ray Hebert answers:

Hi

I have 20 years I.T. Experience and around 14 years Internet experience.

I’ve looked at a large number of affiliate software for my own various sites and found only one that covers many of the important requirements and does an excellent job at a very low cost. It is called Post Affiliate Pro (PAP) and this is NOT my software (I wish it was):

http://superfastprofit.com/Affiliate-Marketing/PAP.html

They have a free version too.

Some of the advanatages of this software were so persuasive that I bought it a long time ago and use it as the backbone of “all” my affiliate tracking and management.

I say “all” because ne of the great advantages of this software is that you install one copy on any server but can manage an unlimited number of affilaite programs for an unlimited number of domains!

That is huuuuggggeeeee … You basically buy once and manage as many different products and domains as you wish no matter where those domains and sites are hosted.

Other advantages include:

- multi tier (up to 10 tiers)

- you can move affiliates manually to place them udenr other people. That is a must have coz some people do not use the proper referral ID to register and the referrer may be upset if you don’t manually correct this (which you can’t with pretty much most systems)

ALso for tracking purposes, you may assign a specific affiliate id to say a link in an article bio or a link in a PPC ad.

That day you may get a lot of registrations “without” the tracking id. That happens because many people remove the ID just to see what happens and if they get anything different.

This happens in as much as 30% of the cases! Again you may want to manually assign these registrations to the id of your PPC ad or whatever that was published that day.

- PAP is the only affiliate software that uses a special method of tracking called falsh cookies. It is much more accurate and credits your affiliates much more precisely, so everyone wins.

- PAP is one of the very few affiliate tracking software that immediately hides the affiliate id so that when the target sales page displays, the aff id is no longer showing in the address bar.

Just highlight this point in your affiliate recruitment drive and you WILL get the attention of many more affiliates. Why?

Because all the good ones are fully aware of how much commissions they lose in most affiliate programs when the id is showing and the customer cuts it out to see if he gets amnything different – again around 30% – 35% of commissions can be lost in this way. That is very large and there is statistical proof of that.

- Amazingly, you also get to “source code” so you can integrate it or modify it any way you like to work with any other systems you have or make it do other things that you want. AND they do custmization work for you too.

Question: How many great affiliate software give you the source code?

Answer: None.

- PAP gives you graphical stats as well as tables.

- You can run affiliate contest and display the contest leadwers during the contest.

- It is so flexible, you can assign special commission rates for some of the affiliates or for a VIP group of affiliates eg your JV partners.

- And the list goes on …

Read more about Post Affiliate Pro right ere:

http://superfastprofit.com/Affiliate-Marketing/PAP.html

If you find a better software or one as good at a lower cost please please let me know by email. I have searched for this for may years and continually do so.

Good luck

Jenny asks…

What exactly does affiliate marketing do?

A guy came into my work today.. he does something with affiliate marketing (I don’t know much about it). He told me that he’s expanding his business and he would like to sit down and talk to me about it. I guess offer me a job. I’m kinda young so i’m worried he’s trying to scam me. Does anyone know more about this business?

Ray Hebert answers:

Affiliate marketing is normally what is known as multilevel marketing; and it usually is a scam, but not always. If it involves insurance sales, run away fast!

ADDED: One poster stated that my statement above is incorrect, as “affiliate marketing” and “multilevel marketing” are not synonymous. He is technically correct; many great companies offer affiliate marketing programs, but most of the programs widely advertised as business opportunities for those without prior expertise tend to be MLM. Some are absolute scams, some are totally legit in every respect; but most are going to be duds for most of the people who try them.

John asks…

affiliate marketing, myth or scam?

Is affiliate marketing doable, is it worth the stress, or is it just hype? Total scam.

Ray Hebert answers:

The best way to be successful with affiliate marketing is to have affiliates that have extremely high traffic or sites that are frequented by a very targeted group of people that is aligned with your target market. You have to weigh the opportunity and the costs and determine whether or not it is worth it for you. That is why most compensation structures in affiliate programs are “pay per click”, because if the affiliate doesn’t refer anyone to your site, you don’t pay anything. However, if they refer many people to your site, it can get very costly. Picking a site that is popular with your target market increases your ROI because you also want to reduce the chance of paying for “duds”. For example, if your affiliate sends 30,000 people to your site, but only 10 are in your target market, that is going to be very expensive and not rewarding.

In short, affiliate marketing is not just hype, but there is no guarantee about the effectiveness. You must choose affiliates strategically. A targeted web ad may be a safe strategy if you are concerned about it.

Steven asks…

Does anyone know of any good information on affiliated online marketing? And them not be scams?

I’m just curious? I’ve been reading about it, but nothings really explained it to me and how to get started.

Ray Hebert answers:

99% are scams in my opinion. They usually want you to buy a kit to get started and you only make commision…Try selling cars before you go online.

Your Questions About Best Affiliate Marketing Products

Susan asks…

Blogging as a means to advertise affiliate products.?

Hi
I am venturing into the world of marketing as an affiliate product owner (clickbank) and would like some advice please.

I have considered blogging as a means to advertise my products. But, I am aware that blog.com and blogger.com etc may consider this a form of spamming.

I do not have the skills to set up my own website as a blog type site. Neither can I afford, at this stage, to hire a web designer. I am considering buying a domain name, hosting space etc but need advice on what would be best for my needs?

I do need the following:
– A package that has some form of easy build facility so I can simply build the site myself.
– A web site that has many pages for me to blog, upload pictures etc in fact has the same stuff blogger.com provides for its bloggers.
– A package with no restrictions so I can blog away whilst advertising my products as and when I deem appropriate.
I would appreciate any advice

Thanks

Ray Hebert answers:

A blog is really meant to provide useful, compelling content to do with the subject that your product is based on.

For example if your product is photographic components your blog would be based on photography etc with links to purchase your product positioned appropriately in your blog.

This isn’t spamming & is the way many bloggers make their money.

Also wordpress is another popular blogging platform.

Sharon asks…

Best way to market affiliate program????

I’m involved w/ an affiliate program, the product is solid, and the potential for growth is enormous! My question, for expierenced online marketers, is, what’s the best way to advertise and create not only a large downline, but a productive one. In other words, 200 people in my downline would be great, but 10 extremely productive ppl would probaly be more profitable. Any advice???

Ray Hebert answers:

The best and easiest way to market your affiliate program is by going to several websites/blogs/forums related to affiliated programs and leaving your comments followed by a link of your website/blog….that would drive some traffic to your website and then you can work on some SEO technics so that whenever people do a search on any search engine then they can see your website/blog/program on the top or atleast on the first page…..

What is the best way to create an e-mail list?

I was laid off from my job about 2 months ago, and I’ve pretty much had it with the corporate world. I want to get into affiliate marketing, as I have some products that I plan to promote. But I don’t want to spam my message to everyone I know. And I’m not looking for the next best ‘thing’ (program, eBook, video, etc.) since sliced bread! I just would like to see what some of you have done to build your e-mail lists.

What is the best Hoodia product ?

My mother used Hoodia and it worked really well at killing her appetite. But that was 2 years ago. What is the best hoodia product on the market right now?

Please only post if you have tried it.

Do NOT post any affiliate links here or on the page you link to, or I will report your account for abuse!

I want real answers.

Ray Hebert answers:

Be very careful with hoodia products, both online and IN THE STORES.

I have found only ONE that works so far.

There are companies that test various products (I cant find the site right now… Consumer Reports might be another one?), and it was amazing how most of the hoodia products failed the test. I mean, like all of them except 2 failed. That is how I found the one I am using now.

The one product I know works (because me and my sister use it) is called Hoodia Prime, by Natures Biology.

I don’t know if it is in stores, as I have purchased mine online.

Do some Google searching on it and you should see a lot of reviews, videos, etc.

As a customer, I get emailed discounts from time to time. Not sure if this still works, but it was good for $50 off their 6 Bottle kit at their website, a little while back (you enter it at checkout.)

Coupon Code: 50NBH

And whatever you do, STAY AWAY from anything with a freetrial, as 99.99% of those companies will scam you. I know first hand :-(

Linda asks…

Is there anyone who is willing to coach me or help me?

I have been in affiliate marketing for a while with little luck. I was wondering if anyone could coach me out of the kindness of their heart to show me the best products to promote and assist me in getting sales fast. I do have prior knowledge so I’m not a total rookie I just want to get my site ranked in google fast and learn to make conversions. any help would be appreciated.

Ray Hebert answers:

If you’ve been in affiliate marketing for a while with little luck, my first advice to you is to get out of it

The problem with affiliate marketing is that you are selling another person’s products — and that person is the one getting rich, not you. Plus, in most affiliate programs, they give you a cookie cutter site that’s basically ready — so all you need is to host the site and you’re ready

Problem is, your site is exactly the same as 10,000 other affiliates. From the search engine perspective, you can never get top ranking because your site has no added value.

Some also create a site filled with affiliate programs left and right — e.g. Joining Amazon, Clickbank, Commission Junction — that their site is merely nothing but ads.

A better approach to affiliate marketing is to create your own site first, with your own content that is unique to your site. Think of an audience you want to reach — e.g. Women in their 40s, college aged kids, empty nesters, etc.

Then, and only then, start thinking of products or services that you can offer your audience that you think they would be interested in.

So they go to your website because of your content. And when they reach your website, they find products or services they are interested in. So your site becomes a valuable resource to them

Change your perspective, if you want to succeed online.

Your Questions About Affiliate Marketing Products Promote

Donald asks…

When promoting an affiliate product through article marketing…?

…should one put a link in the “article resource box” to one’s affiliate-marketing blog for that product, or directly to the vendor’s sales page?

Ray Hebert answers:

Hi John,

You could certainly do either of those but normally I’d recommend linking to your own site as you have much more control over it.

Firstly, many people sending people straight to the vendor will include an ugly looking affiliate url in the bio box. This then shouts ‘affiliate link’ and so many people will not click it just for that reason. You could of course use a redirect script to get around that problem.

Secondly, sending a visitor straight to the vendor means you lose any chance of collecting the visitors information so you can promote to them again in the future whereas sending them to your own site or even directly to your own squeeze page gives you this chance.

David asks…

Is Myspace Marketing possible?

Is it possible to make money marketing on Myspace. For example as a ClickBank affiliate or promoting affiliate marketing products on Myspace using the latest internet marketing methods?

Ray Hebert answers:

It is possible… But don’t do like half theses idiots do and waste your time by create 500+ profile and spamming people comments… Within a few days Myspace picks up on it and all the time wasted is lost money… Try to create a few and leave the catchy banners/ links in your about me file and collect as many friends as possible to use them as a means of promotion…. You can get friends at sites like this http://advertisemyspace.blogspot.com or http://www.friendflood.com it’s easy to do you just have to keep at it.. And DON’T comment Spam you’ll loose all your hard work!

Jenny asks…

How to make money with affiliate marketing?

I have been promoting affiliate products for more than 8 months, without one single sale. My website is http://rudyshealthproducts.webs.com I advertised, I wrote all kind of articles, I joinrd Herbalbiz http://rudysherbalstore.com and even had a thousand visitoes a day going to that website. I joined the Wealthy Affiliate, followed all their advices. How come I never ever made one single sale?
Is affiliate marketing just one cruel joke? Everybody in my family think I’m an absolute nut!

Ray Hebert answers:

Yea I was just listening to a couple of English affiliate guys doing an interview about affiliate, the gut made it sound like you couldn’t help but make $50 a week on a site, that went on to talk about one $500 site being more convenient than 10 $50 sites., Hmm must be the niche.

Yahoo site explorer says your has 6 external links, 2 from your articles, sure could use more…

Some talk about first spending the first 6 to 12 months developing traffic.

Lizzie asks…

how do you advertise for affiliate marketing? How much can you make a month?

How do you promote the product when affilitate marketing? DO you take out ads, what? Also, how much money can be made a month? Thanks! Please, no copy and paste answers…i want real replies only.

Ray Hebert answers:

There are various ways to market your affiliate program or programs. One of the easiest and free is hop-in or email groups. Some are small as a few hundred, while others are as large as 10-20 thousand! Yahoo groups are a good way, though you’ll have to deal with vast amount of email ads from members trying to get attention for their own products or services. One amazing, huge and free marketing community is, http://www.adlandpro.com/

Some of the other ways of marketing is by email. Buy a good email list targeting potential customers who usually purchase the type of products you are trying to market yourself. Stay away from cheap lists with unusually large amount of names, as many are useless and they dont target HOT buyers, just inquirers.

Try mail blaster sites. A few are free, but I think the best are paid. Here is one — http://www.trafficswarm.com

Another good avenue is through the affiliate owners themselves. The top owners usually have various tried and true methods to tapped into the right audience for their product. Its in their best interest to do so.

Though there are hundreds of thousands of affiliate programs out there, most are useless. Watch which you sign up for.
Google top affiliate programs to get the real money makers.

By the way, the top earners maker $20,000 to $250, 000 per week! Get with their programs.

If you need further asist, you are free to send me an email.

Good luck.

Your Questions About Affiliate Marketing Forum

Sandy asks…

who can i trust to help me as a novice in affiliate marketing?

I am just starting out barely know what i am doing. I get email offers all the time selling all manor of different traffic generating software but who out there is honestly interested in bring someone up in the ranks more so than making a quick buck? I guess i want to know what the super affiliates already know but who’s willing to teach someone with a limited income? Or should i be looking at some affiliate group forum for support?

Ray Hebert answers:

There are a lot of people out there who will try to sell you their “system” and you can waste a lot of money on a program that you really don’t need.

Here is a simple way to get started for free!

1. You want to have a website or webpage with a topic or focus of something that you are interested in and know something about or are willing to do some research to learn more about it. Start with a free blog or Squidoo page. The important thing is to write good interesting original content, not just publish a page with a bunch of random spammy links.

2. After you have created a website or page with interesting original content and photos about your topic, apply to affiliate programs and look for companies that have products that fit in with the topic of your pages.

3. Here are some affiliate programs that I like:
Zazzle – you can create and design your own online store of products by downloading your favorite photos and then post a few products related to your topic or in some cases perhaps a link to your store on your website: http://www.zazzle.com/vickisims?rf=238110270365818601

Linkshare is a company that has many advertisers to choose from, and you get paid with one check from Linkshare for all of your sales.: http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/stat?id=u5gSYs0n6aI&offerid=7097.10000025&type=3&subid=0

Share-a –sale is another company similar to LinkShare – they have many advertisers that you can choose from and you are paid in one check every month from LinkShare for all sales: http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=69&u=360104&m=47&urllink=&afftrack

All Posters – You can use the links to the posters and pictures at All Posters in your webpages to add some great photos and illustrations plus you may sell a few: http://affiliates.allposters.com/link/redirect.asp?AID=1581418438&PSTID=1&LTID=19&LID=112&ParentAID=1581418438&lang=1

There are numerous other free affiliate marketing programs, but with some you must earn $50 in commissions before you are paid so it is better to start off using one company with lots of different advertisers that have products that fit your topic to be able to reach the payment threshold faster. Then as you create more pages and learn how to generate traffic to them, you can expand to additional programs.

4. After you’ve created a page or two you can learn more about SEO and getting traffic to your website through the use of backlinks by linking all of your websites, blog pages and Squidoo pages to each other. You can also get back links on numerous other social networking sites, message boards and blogs.

I would recommend starting with creating pages (called lenses) on Squidoo. They have a pretty easy to use system of modules and you can even earn income directly from Squidoo by including their Amazon and eBay modules. Pick products from Amazon and eBay related to the topic of your page and if anyone clicks on your product link and buys something you earn a commission. You can also add your own affiliate program links to your pages. Here is an example of how you can put them all together to make a great page: http://www.squidoo.com/Seattle-Pike-Place-Market

Notice how the selling modules and affiliate programs must be appropriate to the topic and helpful to the reader for it to work well. People get turned off fast from a site that screams BUY, BUY, BUY – they must get some good information from the page to stick around and possibly eventually click out on a link.
Squidoo also has great community support and lots of pages about affiliate marketing. They also have a message board where you can learn a lot. If you’d like to get started making a Squidoo page (called a lens) here is a link: http://www.squidoo.com/lensmaster/referral/VickiSims

5. Create more pages on related or different topics that interest you. It helps if you can pick a niche or two that have topics that are related.

You won’t make a lot of money right away – it does take time and effort, but you won’t lose any money on a bunch of scams either.

Susan asks…

In terms of Affiliate Marketing, do internet forums do well in attracting traffic?

Or would another type of site be more profitable?

Ray Hebert answers:

NO — because:

1 – many forum owners and administrators don’t like people spamming their forum and putting in links; or merely using their forum to advertise their affiliate programs

2 – you can get traffic, but not a lot of traffic. You will have to spam a lot of forums with your affiliate links to be able to get a sizeable traffic

Getting traffic should be a multi-pronged approach, and not just using 1 strategy. Examples include

Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

http://i-newswire.com/

http://www.theopenpress.com/

http://www.przoom.com/

http://www.prweb.com

http://www.newswiretoday.com/

http://www.free-press-release.com/

Submit articles. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

Here is a comprehensive list of where to submit your articles http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylt=AhzreGmnCUicOoyedqypscUjzKIX?qid=1006022407481

Carol asks…

is there a affiliate links free stock market forum where i can get some genuine help regarding stocks, charts?

i have tried to work on multiple forums, but it seems the forum owners always try to make me signup for one thing or another, is there a simple place where i can get some genuine information and help without all that affiliate stuff we see all the time?

Ray Hebert answers:

It’s difficult that you will get a forum where there are no affiliate links, however there are some rare forums which are offshoot of the main site, that is why they don’t need to have a lot of affiliate links to the site, moreover they are more or less a very tightly knit community.

And people actually try to help there.

Mary asks…

How to give affiliate url from my own website ?

Dear all,

I would like to start a estore website, from that I am planning to run a affiliate programme. I have seen in many websites running affiliate programmes by giving an URL link of the same website with affiliate Id. And they are giving that link as a free website. It looks same as the parent website, It is hardly taking less than 30 seconds.

I am eager to know how the url link is generated, does this process requires any third party software, if so can any of you suggest what are mosft famous softwares for this process.

please educate me in this scenario, your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thank you

Ray Hebert answers:

Hi, this is a “white label” solution.

Essentially, the parent website uses technology to serve the exact site up for affiliate but uses a coded paramater on the end of the URL to identify which affiliate partner.

For example www.parentsite.com?affiliateID=1 will track sales/transactions generated for the affiliate with the ID 1.

At the point when a visitor comes in on the URL www.parentsite.com?affiliateID=1 the affiliateID=1 parameter will probably be captured by the first party cookie and thus at the point of sale, the software will pull the parameter frmo the cookie and this is how transactions are tracked for each affiliate.

Typically, white label solutions offer some level of rebranding to differentiate from each other.

With regards to software, you would actually implement this simple tracking solution yourself as essentially all you are doing is tagging a sale (in the cookie) through the dynamic parameter (?affiliateID=1).

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this as a good affiliate solution capable of generating you sales but for the time it would take you to implement it’s worth trialing.

I would recommend off the shelf software such as: http://jam.jrox.com/, but shop around this query will get you started: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=affiliate+marketing+software&meta=

Betty asks…

Affiliate marketing scheme ( Affiliate Junktion) IS THIS A CON?

I have just come across a website that is making some amazing promises. Its called Affiliate junktion and they promise people who sign up could realistically earn $150 per day. It is all to do with marketing there software and generating leads for them, they apparently provide all the software needed and offer support. There is absolutly no cost to sign up. I am normaly really sceptical with online promises because they always seem too good to be true and usually have hidden costs but this site is definatly free to join. Has anyone here had any experience with this company and if so could you possibly tell me what it would involve on my part. Are these realistic earnings if I was to put in say 5 hours per day? Or is it all just another online scam? Any advice or info would be great? check them out with this address to see for yourself.
http://www.affiliatejunktion.com/?a_aid=b9b044d0

Ray Hebert answers:

Its a con..google them with the word “scam” and you will see. If your looking for leads for earning there are only 2 sites i recommend for job leads. Workathomemomrevolution.blogspot.com and http://workhomesecrets.blogspot.com they are both free and you will see the quality of the post. They aren’t trying to make a buck off you. The other site is junk..sorry

Ken asks…

Software to make PDFs from JPGs?

I’m looking for something that can take multiple JPGs (scans of individual pages from my vacation souvenir booklets) and make PDFs from them. There is software that will do this in Linux, which I also have installed, but right now I’m looking specifically for something that will work in Windows XP. And it would be really good if it was free.

I’ve checked download.com and done a couple of searches but have come up dry. I’m finding lots of stuff that will print to PDF, but that won’t help; I don’t want to have to import those JPGs into a word processor and then resize them to fit the page before I can print them. I’ve tried that and it’s a real pain. I think Acrobat will do this (or at least it will with TIFFs because I used to use it at a temp job), but I’m looking for something cheaper. Does anyone have any suggestions?

One last thing: Please, NO AFFILIATE LINKS. I *will* report them – to Yahoo and to the vendor you’re representing (and yes, I can tell – even if they’re disguised). Sorry to make such a fuss, but I seriously hate spam.

Ray Hebert answers:

And, if you don’t speak German, click on the English Manual link under the UK/US flags in the upper right corner.

Here’s the description from Softpedia with information on the files it converts, including jpgs. 7-PDF doesn’t “print” but creates pdf’s directly. It runs on XP/Vista/Windows 7. And, no, I’m not affiliated with the software in any way – except that I grew up with German neighbors, moved and found that my new neighbors were from …..Germany! Sprich du Deutsch?;-)

Your Questions About Affiliate Market Training

Michael asks…

Want to start a small running/exercise club or business, need pointers and advice.?

What I want to do is to first start off with a small independent local free weight exercise and running club/business. All running an exercises will be performed on public grounds.

My target audience will be unfit teens to unfit adults, people who want to increase their running speed, distance, endurance, or people who just want to be more healthy and lower their heart rate. Body weight exercises will be included as well such as push ups and sit ups.

My experience – I have been through Army Basic Training, and AIT. (maxed my pt test in AIT). I am currently on the reserves, and I believe that a part time job like this could bring in some extra income to help me pay for school. I like to help people, and watch them improve. I am very fit, but will become even more fit before I even think of starting a program like this. I have also a good name for my club, and have promoted fitness products in the past with affiliate marketing, and this allowed me to learn a lot about the fitness world.

I am good at marketing so I believe I can get a good amount of customers.

I haven no nutrition or fitness degrees or certificates. I know this will help and if I decide to go along with this I will definitely need invest into it.

So, lets say I start this club or business. I will most likely let people try it for free, and then charge them a beta version since I would be new to this, and explain to them why I am charging a small price.

I am just concerned about liability. What if one of my customers or club member gets seriously hurt while under my “teaching or instructions” and they decide to take legal action against me. I of course will be making everyone sign a contract, waiver, or agreement beforehand. I am not sure how much good this will do.

I don’t have tons of money to spend on a lawyer also.

Thank you so much, and I appreciate the help!

Name of Call Centers to work for at home?

I recently had a call center that you could work from home on my computer, my computer crashed and I have lost the name of the company, I don’t know much about it, except they worked for companies like Eddie Baur etc., I know that you did the training online, no upfront fees etc and it was legit. Can someone tell me the name of companies that do this so that I can try and find the one I was interested in, I am really bugged by this, as I am trying to make a living staying at home with my son…don’t waste your time telling me about click ads, affiliate marketing etc. etc., STRICTLY looking for a call center from home job at this time.

George asks…

I have a e-commerce problem and I need help though I can’t even find one of the sites listed. Can anyone help?

The problem/assignment is:
Marti Baron operates a small Web business, The Cannonball, that sells parts, repair kits, books, and accessories to hobbyists who restore antique model trains. Many model train hobbyists and collectors have created Web sites on which they share photos and other information about model trains. Marti is interested in creating an affiliate marketing program that would allow those hobbyists to place links on their sites to The Cannonball and be rewarded with commissions sales that result from visitors following those links. Examine the services offered by Free Be, Commission Junction, LinkShare, and any other affiliate program brokers that you can find on the Web. Recommend at least one affiliate program broker that would be good for Marti’s business. In no more than 500 words, explain your recommendation. Be sure to consider the characteristics of Marti’s business in your analysis.

One website I read said Be Free was the best choice of these three, but I can’t even find that site. I don’t want anyone to necessarily write it but suggest a good site/affiliate program.

Ray Hebert answers:

I am a member of CJ,Linkshare,Amazon and many others but this one beats them all and especially for the person who wants to do e-commerce and especially if you are on a budget. They not only provide comprehensive training, support but also provide the cart getway for you to process the orders and you will be able to pay your affiliates as well. These guys are the best not only in affiliate marketing but also e-commerce.Once you join them ,you have the ability to learn other online business stuff but you can also just go into e-commerce.I am a member

Thomas asks…

How do I get started in Affiliate Marketing?

Alright I need help on where to start out as an affiliate marketer. I am a beginner but, I do know how affiliate marketing works.

I’m actually a member of wealthy affiliate and I’m on like my 3rd week of training but, I want to kinda get started in some things since I kinda know some things there telling me.

I just want to know how I go about doing this. Like as far as a website goes. Should I set up a website or blog? like I need help with that aspect of the business. Like how do I set up a website or where do I start? I just want to get started.
People don’t spam me with your little sites and try and con money from someone. I need genuine help. Not your little scam sites.

Ray Hebert answers:

You can start with a free blog at blogspot or WordPress if you like, although later on you’ll probably want to get a hosting account of your own (I recommend Hostgator — it’s like $4.95 a month for the most basic option).

If you’re just itching to get some money coming on, there are a number of products you can promote that are set up to deposit your commissions directly into your PayPal account at the time of sale. (If you don’t have a PayPal account yet, I urge you to set one up ASAP.)

Check out the link in the box below, I have a list of 200 products you can start selling immediately and get paid in your PayPal. While you shouldn’tuse something like this as a long-term cornerstone of your online business, it is a great way to get some extra money coming in quickly while you work on your long-term goals.

Your Questions About Affiliate Software

Sharon asks…

What is Affiliate Marketing software?

I’m just starting out to learn affiliate marketing, (not easy) and I want to know if affiliate marketing software can help me as far as what to do and when to do it. Thanks

Ray Hebert answers:

If you are trying to sell your product using other affiliates then you should use an affiliate network such as Google Affiliate Network for physical products of ClickBank for digital products.
If you are trying to be an affiliate marketer yourself let me give you an advice:
Forget about software at this stage, start from the basics and learn the business.
Don’t fall for Guru’s and Super Affiliates products, they suck, because they are not teaching you the business only their experience which won’t help you much.

Ruth asks…

how to get people to a site using an affiliate software with no product?

Ray Hebert answers:

As broalex said, affiliate marketing is about people promoting products or services. Affiliate marketing software is really not a good idea. The best way to do it is the already proven successful way.

If you want to learn about affiliate marketing principles and techniques the I highly recommend this e-book: http://www.creativelymarketing.com/sbi/aff-masters

It will tell you everything you need to know to succeed in this business, really, there’s no better literature and the best of all is that it’s free!

I hope this was useful.

What is your favorite affiliate datafeed store building software for wordpress and why?

I’d like to build niche stores in wordpress and pull datafeeds from venders. I don’t have a huge budget, so customization and ease of use is important. Any suggestions?

Ray Hebert answers:

Me too in the same thought but attaching a store to my existing website. I have tried using many plugins and found one simple plugin which gives good output for me. Its called Amazon PIP (Product-In-a-Post).
I have just made only one of the post. Problem is with the theme I feel. Before going into it just test it in your local machine. If you need real store like feel try Automattic and Wp-all import (Both comes around $99 USD). Automattic has no commission split-up but WP-all import will insert its tracking id of amazon randomly with some percentage.

Your Questions About Affiliate Marketing News

Michael asks…

Do I need to copyright my website and how?

I have a website which is very nearly finished and aim to use it for affiliate marketing as well as getting revenue from adverts, I will be uploading a lot of original content ie it’s a satire news website and all the stories on there will be written by myself and two others.

Ray Hebert answers:

In 163 countries copyright exists the moment you make something original, like a song, a photo or some original text on your website.

The problem is when someone rips you off and then you have to prove that the copyright was yours and not someone elses. It’s not good enough to have a dated version on your own or a friends computer because you could easily alter that. It has to be independent.

You can upload your text in a text file to a special webpage and they fingerprint them and record the time you uploaded. This means that you have an independent record showing when you made it. No one will be able to argue with that! :)

One such service as was suggested by somebody elese was the USPTO, but this costs about $40 for every piece you want to copyright and takes about 3-6 months.
I use a service called http://www.provemycopyright.com because you get 1Gb of space to upload lots of different material. When you write something new, you can just upload that one too and it doesn’t cost you anything extra. It is also totally webbased and automatic so it works straight away.

Hope it helps

Will a monetized video game review blog fall under “fair use”?

Hi, I’m planning on starting a video game blog in which I would review, preview an post basic info on games, products, events and things like news in the gaming community.

Now my question is: since I am using this for review preview and comment, would this fall under the “fair use” doctrine even if I were to use google adsense and affiliate marketing?

As long as I only show images that are not in original size or are scanned from the actual product and write my own information, would this be protected under fair use or the “de minimis rule”?

Ray Hebert answers:

Yes. Be sure to state that everything is presented under the fair use policy in the header and in the pages of the reviews.

Liberals want to tax the rich…what happens when the rich and business just LEAVE their state?

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/couponcabincom-comments-on-gov-quinn-signing-internet-tax-bill-117759053.html
Misguided Effort Will Drive Thriving Internet Businesses to Nearby States
CHICAGO, March 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn today signed the so-called Internet tax bill (HB 3659), which requires out-of-state merchants who advertise on websites based in Illinois to collect taxes from all Illinois customers.

The new tax law relates to out-of-state merchants like Amazon.com and Overstock.com that do not have a physical presence in Illinois but have relationships with Illinois advertisers and publishers like CouponCabin.com. Under the provisions of the new law, these merchants are deemed to have a presence (nexus) in Illinois and are therefore required to collect Illinois sales tax.

In response to the Governor’s approval of HB 3659, Scott Kluth, CEO of CouponCabin.com, issued the following statement:

“The Governor’s approval of HB 3659 is deeply disappointing. As a result, Illinois will lose jobs, many thriving businesses like CouponCabin and other affiliate marketing firms will be forced to move to other states, and most important, this law will not generate the tax revenue Illinois thinks it will collect.

What do other moms do to make money at home?

I have used my hobbies to help bring in a little extra cash. Such as house plant and perennial work. But it doesn’t bring much in.

I have looked into freelance writing. I have done many articles for news papers etc… for free. But have never been paid for freelance as of yet.

Also I have seen for example: If some one is into photography and desk top publishing, some have ran photo contest for the best looking child, pet etc… There may be a charge to enter. But that is where they get there pay out money for first prize.

Others have let people enter there own photo to see if they qualify to be published. Regardless of how great the photo is, the person running the business says, your photo qualified. If you want a copy of the published book that contains your photo the price is insane. Could be $35.00 or even $80.00 for the published book. That is how the publisher makes the money.

What have you found that you have fun with and make money at the same time.

NO SPAM PLEASE!

No chain letters, stuffing envelopes or sending out fancy magazines with the promise of making a fortune. I do know that some people make money with affiliate marketing etc… But only people that are really computer trained have luck with that kind of thing.

I look forward to real answers. Not the empty promises of making money with a secret spam program that makes people so rich they can buy new boats, homes, cars etc… That is fraud!
Fin Let me turn on my ESP homing device. Hmmmmm Hmmmmmm! Make money with your camera, start for free. http://listbuildingwithchrisandfin.com/Earn-Money-With-Your-Digital-Camera.html But I have to get out my credit card to start for free! Hmmmmmm! These people made hundreds on the photos they have taken with there digital camera. Buy this book to find out how. Hmmmmmm Now use these photos to start your own marketing program. You must have internet skills to develop your own computer program to rip people off, Or hire a computer expert! Hmmmmmm. SOUNDS LIKE SPAM TO ME!

As for the other answer related to the same program as click bank. Tried it! For a long time. Never made a penny! It is also considered SPAM.

And as for the Secret Shopper. I got an invite in my mail. There is a bogus claim that there are a couple thousand businesses in my zip code screaming out looking for secret shoppers.

Hmmmmmm. In my zip code there may be about twelve businesses if I really look around and count.

Our old bookkeeper from work works as a freelance bookkeeper. Through friends she has also been able to pick up work with a few local small companies who can’t afford an in-house or don’t need full time bookkeeping services.

Another friend started a custom cookie/cupcake company out of her home. She’s always loved to bake and now makes custom cookies and cupcakes for birthday parties, weddings, christenings, football games, school functions, charity events, etc. She’s had so many orders this week for Superbowl decorated cupcakes. It started all through word of mouth and now she advertises in the local newspaper and in her church bulletin.

My friend Liz who was a yoga and fitness instructor before having kids turned her basement into a studio where she does private one-on-one appointments, most of the clients are parents of kids at her kids’ school

I know other people who are music teachers, language tutors, child minders, etc from home

Why is Fox content to be the big fish in a little pond?

In my market the Fox broadcast affiliate doesn’t even do a primetime national news show. I suspect that’s the case around the country.

I guess Fox competes for the primetime news market with Bret Baier – Special Report on their cable outlet. Here are the numbers (Oct 12):

NBC News – 8,777,000
ABC News – 7,730,000
CBS News – 5,940,000
Bret Baier – 2,404,000

If Fox is such a great news service why don’t they have the guts to take on the big players? Are they content to just beat CNN and MSNBC in the much smaller cable news market?

Online store, e-commerce, affiliate computer sales etc?

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew of any programs in which i can be some sort of an affiliate, by marketing products on my website (or perhaps they provide me with a website) in which I earn a commision when people purchase their products from my site. I have seen similar programs like zanox.com etc but I want something targeted directly to that of computer and technology products. Please feel free to help me out if you know of anything, cheers Mike :)

Hey,

Your best bet is either joining commission junction http://www.cj.com, which is an affiliate program for physical items such as computer products etc or join eBays affiliate program https://www.ebaypartnernetwork.com/ where you can list auctions on specific items, in your case computer products and if that auction is bought through your site you earn commission.

You shouldn’t have any problem signing up with any of the affiliate programs, notably the big ones i.e. ClickBank, LinkShare & Commission Junction. Providing you submit the correct payee information, you should have no problem receiving your fortnightly checks in the post.
